Awakening
The awe
of such beauty
A butterfly cocoon sitting still
In astonishment
I witness the brilliance of nature
The colors-the grace-the beauty
I allow
this gift of nature to reach out to me
As it chooses to be lifted upon my skin
I hand
it with love to be given back
It has taken my worries, my torments, my fears
And all I have held inside
To start me on my journey of healing my heart and my soul
I watch
as it takes its first flutter to freedom
It rides the breeze as it frees the pain I have trusted it
with
To filter into the healing of nature
I see
it flutter into its own
And thank God to allow me this experience
Though
short-it has given me my beautiful symbol for life.
I will honor and keep reminded of a no longer existence
Of an old cocoon within me needing to be shed
